I also have a 1999 chevy malibu that is doing the same thing no fire on 1 and 3 cyclinders has a new set of coil packs, module and plugs. I found that 1 and 3 weren't hitting by pulling injector connectors off of the injectors used noide light to check connectors they are getting fire. I then pulled fuel rail and cranked engine all injectors sprayed fuel. I did a compression check on all cyclinders and all were 125 lbs. On the malibu I checked the timing marks and all were good. I've pulled the codes and just got random cyclinder misfire codes. I have a book on both cars but it doesn't tell if the computer has quad drivers built in it. I'm not a fan of the 2.4L but these cars are in really good shape. I like to get them fixed before wife makes me get rid of them. Thanks for your help
