It was working fine, then one day just would start. No problems prior to this. I have lights and power, and I hear a click when I turn the key to on, but nothing at all when I turn it to start. I replaced the starter and solenoid, the battery, battery cable, and ensured a good ground too. Still nothing. Ignition switch? Ignition module? Just guessing randomly

Based on the information you provided, it's difficult to pinpoint the exact cause of the issue with your 1985 Pontiac Fiero not starting. However, there are a few potential culprits you can consider checking:

Ignition switch: A faulty ignition switch can prevent the starter from receiving the signal to engage. You can try testing the ignition switch by checking for power at the starter solenoid when the key is turned to the "start" position. If there is power, the switch is likely functioning correctly. If not, it may need to be replaced.

Ignition module: The ignition module controls the timing of the spark plugs and can affect the starting of the engine. A malfunctioning ignition module can result in a no-start condition. You can have the module tested at an auto parts store or consider replacing it if necessary.

Neutral safety switch: The neutral safety switch ensures that the engine can only start in neutral or park. If the switch is faulty, it can prevent the starter from engaging. Try moving the gear selector through the different positions while attempting to start the vehicle. If it starts in a different position, the neutral safety switch may need to be replaced.

Starter relay: The starter relay is responsible for transmitting power to the starter solenoid when the ignition key is turned to the "start" position. A faulty relay can prevent the starter from receiving power. You can try swapping the starter relay with a similar one in the fuse box to see if it resolves the issue.

If none of these steps resolve the problem, it may be best to consult a professional mechanic who can diagnose the specific issue with your Pontiac Fiero. They have the expertise and specialized equipment to accurately identify the problem and suggest the appropriate solution.
