I am the owner of a 1989 Plymouth Sundance with a 2.2L throttle body fuel injected engine. My question is regarding idling.
My car has always ran rough however lately when I cold start it the engine barely runs. You have to hold the accelator down to keep it going (the rpm's go up and down in rhythm). When warm it does run better but only about 750 rpm's and I am scared it will stall at an intersection.
This car has overheated recently and I tried to run it without a thermostat briefly. Any comments are appreciated. I have a Haynes manual and am guessing the SMEC (cpu) or a faulty sensor?
