Rought idle, engine looses power intermittently on hwy.

1994 Plymouth acclaim 4 cyl fuel injected throttle body. 140,000 miles.
This vehicle normally idles rough but runs well and is spunky on acceleration. Lately it will run down like it is running out of fuel while on the highway at speeds of 55 - 65 mph. I let up on the gas pedal and then down again. If that does not work, I slowly depress the accelerator and can get the speed back up. I keep the car in the garage and can smell a little gas in the air normally. No exhaust odors present. Good mileage in city and hwy. I am thinking that the fuel pressure regulator on top of the fuel injector or the injector itself might be the culprit or both. The O2 sensor has been replaced and plugs, wires, dist. Cap and rotor also. Please help. And thanks.

Do you
