Anti theft system?

I sat on my key and the alarm to the truck went off and locked the engine, have not been able to drive it since. The alarm sounds at all times and the truck door has no key hole. I have two keys for the truck on that is the actual key one that has the buttons.

I just bought the truck listed above it is the Lariat model. It came with one key and fob. I was going to program a second set of keys, a friend of mine has a Autel 960. But when we erased the key codes it said it programmed the new ones. But now it is in theft/immobilized mode. Is there anyway to get it out of theft mode? I went and bought a new OEM key (not programmed) like the one that came with the truck. I had an aftermarket key that I was going to program. Do not know if that is what caused the problem or not. The anti theft light flashes slow when key is out of switch but it will not do anything when trying to start.

Yes, the protocol must have been erased. You will need to take the truck to Ford to have them reprogram the system from their factory computers.

You might what to try a system hard reboot. Remove the negative cable from the battery and touch it to the positive cable. This will discharge the capacitors and it might reset the system.

Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Well had a locksmith out to shop, he was there about three hours and no luck. He told us that Ford had a theft system that is hard to beat. The man had all the latest equip and could not get a key that would get engine to turn over, so it is off to the Ford dealer.

I hadn't thought to get back and let you know what was done. Computer had to be flashed and yea it was done at dealership. But truck is back on the road

My 2006 f150 was running fine, I pulled over and shut the truck off to grab something and when I went to start it, there was nothing. Nat a click or try to crank over. I left the key on and jumped the starter, it would crank but not start. I was told it could be the security system in the truck, not sure. Now the display on the dash says check guages. Anyone have a clue? Also I had a obd2 scanner hooked up and it cant communucate with the computer.

I lost keys, tried to start with screwdriver. Messed pats transceiver up. Well it's over 10 years old so dealership doesn't have key codes. My question is if I get a steering column off a parts truck and pcm. Switch that out in mine will it fix my problem?

Yes, if swap out the ignition lock cylinder/keys and the PCM from the same parts truck, then your vehicle should start. In the diagrams down below I have included a description of the PATS system for your vehicle and the instructions for the removal and installation of the ignition lock cylinder for your vehicle as well. Replaced PCM, fuel pump, and fuses. Thought this was my problem. Truck anti theft system has been flashing fast so trying to reset it. No luck so far please advise.

If trying a spare key did not work, and getting a new key cut is not something you can or want to do then it appears you are going to have to have the trouble codes retrieved to find out why the security light is on.

It says PAT's is engaged. Rubber ring around ignition switch is not reading key to reset PAT's.

Theft light flashes once and pauses and flashes six times and pauses. Then repeats over and over indicating code16. Please help.

I was not aware the theft light showed trouble codes in that manner. Maybe someone else on here know, but I do not.

It definitely sounds like you have a programming issue. I do not know about the code flashing first time for me as well. I learn something almost everyday here. Here are the instructions from ford on the troubleshooting and programming methods:

Key Programming Using Two Programmed Keys

NOTE:
This procedure only works if two or more programmed ignition keys are available and it is desired to program additional key(s). If two keys are not available, refer to KEY PROGRAMMING USING DIAGNOSTIC EQUIPMENT.
NOTE:
PID SPARE_KY must be enabled for this procedure to operate. If this PID is not enabled, follow the security access procedure. Refer to ANTI-THEFT SECURITY ACCESS and select SPARE KEY PROGRAMMING SWITCH: ENABLED.
NOTE:
If the programming procedure is successful, the new key(s) will start the vehicle and the THEFT indicator will illuminate for approximately three seconds.
NOTE:
If the programming procedure is not successful, the new key(s) will not start the vehicle and the THEFT indicator will flash. If the programming procedure was not successful, repeat the key programming procedure from Step 1. If the failure repeats, refer to DIAGNOSIS AND TESTING to review the DTCs and carry out the pinpoint tests as necessary.
NOTE:
A maximum of eight ignition keys can be programmed to a passive anti-theft system (PATS) equipped vehicle. If more are needed, refer to KEY PROGRAMMING SWITCH STATE CONTROL.
NOTE:
If the steps are not carried out as described, the programming procedure will end.
NOTE:
Ignition keys must have correct mechanical key cut for the vehicle and must be a PATS encoded key.
NOTE:
If the vehicle is in unlimited key mode, this spare programming procedure still functions. Any two keys that can start the vehicle may be used to program in an additional unlimited key.
Insert the first programmed ignition key into the ignition and turn the ignition from OFF to ON (maintain the ignition in ON for one second).
Turn the ignition OFF and remove the first key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Within 10 seconds of turning the ignition OFF, insert the second programmed ignition key into the ignition and turn the ignition from OFF to ON (maintain the ignition in ON for one second).
Turn the ignition OFF and remove the second key from the ignition lock cylinder.
Within 20 seconds of turning the ignition to OFF, insert the unprogrammed ignition key (new key) into the ignition and turn the ignition from OFF to START (attempt to start the vehicle).
If it is desired to program additional key(s), repeat the key programming procedure from the beginning.
Key Programming Using Diagnostic Equipment

Turn the ignition from OFF to ON.
Using the diagnostic tool, follow the SECURITY ACCESS to obtain security access. Refer to ANTI-THEFT SECURITY ACCESS.
From the diagnostic tool menu, select IGNITION KEY CODE ERASE.
Do not select any additional commands from this menu.
Turn the ignition OFF and disconnect the diagnostic tool.
Insert the first encoded key into the ignition and turn the ignition ON for one second.
Insert the second encoded key into the ignition and turn the ignition ON for one second.
Remove the second encoded key from the ignition.
The vehicle should now start with both ignition keys.

Have you tried a hard reboot of the system by holding the negative battery cable to the positive post discharging the capacitors and then reconnect and unlock the drives door.
