I'm replacing the serpetine belt on my 1999, olds sillouette van. To me it looks like the crank shaft pulley is purposely misaligned and the s-belt is intended to ride behind it (toward the engine block). My probelnm is that I see rubber pieces behind the groved, crank pulley and since the old belt shredded, I can't tell if it was part of the old belt or some sort of rubber liner for the serpentine belt to ride on?
Also, how tough is it to pull that crank pulley and what are the torque settings for reinstall?
