Hi I have a 2001 Oldsmobile aurora 4L, V8 and I have 2 concerns with it right now but its possible that one thing could be causing both problems. 1st is that my computer is reading a cylinder 8 misfire, I have changed the plugs (all 8) to see if that was the problem but no luck? The other issue is that when I changed the plugs I noticed that there was oil on the side of the plugs could the gasket leaking be causing the missfire or should I try changing the coil pack? And what is the easiest way to tell for sure?

Valve cover gasket is the cause for the oil in the tube.

The scan tool or a scope is the best way to monitor the cylinder.
