Reverse is the only gear that won't work. It acts like it's in neutral. Here is a little back story on the car:
I know the guy I bought it from and I've ridden in the vehicle before and reverse was fine. The rear brake (driver side) locked up and he put it in the ditch. He had it towed to a mutual friend's house a couple miles from where he wrecked it. He lives in Michigan and left the car here (Kentucky). I offered him a couple hundred bucks for it and he sold it since it would be a hassle to get it back up north. Would towing the vehicle of messed it up? Putting it in the ditch maybe disconnect something? Any "small things" I could try before buying a used transmission? Thanks ya'll!

Good afternoon,

How did you tow it? If you flat towed it, then yes, you damaged the transmission.
