When it gets too cold outside my vehicle won’t crank over until you heat up under dash for a few minutes. Soon as do it starts fine?

If your vehicle is having trouble starting in cold weather but starts fine after heating up under the dash, there could be a few possible causes for this issue. Here are a few things you can consider:

Battery: Cold weather can affect the performance of your vehicle's battery. Low temperatures can reduce the battery's ability to deliver power, making it harder for the engine to start. If your battery is old or weak, it may struggle to start the car in cold conditions. Consider having your battery tested or replaced if necessary.

Fuel system: Cold weather can cause fuel-related issues. The fuel lines and fuel pump may be affected by low temperatures, leading to poor fuel delivery to the engine. This can make it difficult for the engine to start. Using a fuel additive specifically designed for cold weather or switching to a winter-grade fuel may help.

Ignition system: Cold weather can also affect the ignition system components, such as the spark plugs, ignition coils, or ignition switch. Faulty or worn-out ignition components can struggle to generate the necessary spark for starting the engine in cold conditions. Consider having your ignition system inspected and serviced if needed.

Electrical connections: Cold weather can cause electrical connections to contract, leading to poor contact or even a complete loss of connection. This can prevent the starter motor from receiving enough power to crank the engine. Inspect the battery terminals, ground connections, and other electrical connections to ensure they are clean, tight, and free from corrosion.
