Where is the thermostat? I have removed the top radiator hose and removed the housing at the engine but there is no thermostat and no place to put one. I have checked the lower hose and there is not one there either. The truck has to have a thermostat but I can't find it. Please don't tell me it is at the engine where the top hose connects because it isn't. I removed the housing and there is no machined indent to place the thermostat into. Thanks. Joe

it's where the lower hose attaches to the block.

PS on some models, i find it easier to remove the power steering pump to help get to the housing bolts.

You answer was right on. I removed the PS unit and that made it much easier to get to the housing. Thanks for your advice. Joe
