92 MAXIMA'S ANNOYING SEATBELT CHIME

223K miles. For the most part, served me well. All except a temporary memory loss. It's forgotten there are automatic seat belts installed. You know, the kind which retract when the doors are closed?

I got into the habit of buckling up years ago so disabling them has never been an issue.

My problem is that very often after starting, the seat belt alert chime will sound four times, then stops, then starts, then stops, then does the four-chime thing again. The chime will often stay off for hours, or weeks and then begins again. To say the least it's very distracting and frustrating and I'd like it to end. How or what needs to be done to get that to happen?

Looks like there is a switch in the reciever end of the lap belt that might be bad or the limiting switch for the shoulder assembly.
