My sons battery died and he had a friend jump start him. After doing so, his radio does not work. I think it is a fuse but I cannot be certain. Everything else works fine. I have looked in the manual for what type of fuse and its location in the car, but I cannot find it. I have looked under the driver side compartment area and see some fuses there but the panel does not list the radio there. Is there somewhere else to look in the car besides under the hood (which I will check tonight) to look for the fuse? I also will look in the glove carpetment later tonight. Would the fuse be a 10 or 15 amp? Any help you could offer would be great.

Thanks,

EJ Leto

Your radio fuse should be in the interior of the vehicle not under the hood. I would recommend buying a test light and turning the key and test all the fuses (touch both terminals on top of the fuse). If a fuse only lights up on one terminal and not the other then you know that fuse is blown.

Here is a guide to show you how with the fuse locations in the diagrams below.

Check out the diagrams (Below). Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Mine did that also. After a couple weeks, it started working when the car was warm, and now works like normal at all times/temperartures. Never did solve the problem. 734trq

I can be wrong, but as far as I know, 99 Altima does not have anti-theft radio, thus no code is required to turn on the radio. You may want to check these two fuses, though, fuses #10 and 35, both 10A inside the fuse block under the driver side dash.

As for the fuel door, you may need to spray some deicer to get the door to open. You may also open the trunk, remove the carpeting around where the fuel door is, you should see a release cable that you can pull to unlock the door, as well.
