1990 Mitsubishi Truck 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 155000 miles

I just bought a 1990 mighty max, cylinder head was replaced last august, (overheated)after head was replaced truck was driven just over 100 miles then truck started smoking customer took it back to the shop that replaced the c ylinder head they more or less told him that his bottom end was gone. All this after spending over $1800. After I took possesion of the truck checked the basics compression (all cylinders at 130. Truck was skipping badly due to oil on plugs replaced plugs skip went away which won't
last long with the amount of smoke coming thru exhaust. Started to tear engine down removed valve cover, removed exhaust manifold, timing cover placed engine on all timing marks. But noticed that oil pump was not in time. May be aleast 3 teeth out will this cause my concern or due I have a ring concern.I am not sure what having oil pump timing off will cause
