Mileage is 168,000. Yes it's a lot, but this is the first time this car has had this kind of major problem. I was driving on the highway and accelerated to 80mph, then the car refused to continue accelerating, and I had to pull off to the side of the road. The car then wouldn't start. I know it's not the battery or battery cables; I replaced those only five months ago, and my lights, power windows/locks etc. Still work. When I try to start the car, it makes a high pitch whining noise; the sound is similar to the sound of an unbuckling seatbelt that retracts quickly. Any help would be awesome and greatly appreciated! Thanks for your time.
