1996 Mits Eclipse GS (non turbo)
2.0 dohc engine
So the problem started a few days ago, I was on my way to work one morning and I went to turn on the car and it was trying to start but would not turn over. After two or three tries it started. I went to work and would worry about it later. So after work same issue, took 2 or 3 tries and it would start up. The check engine light came on and through a code for bad ignition coil. I took the car to my mechanic, who said the coil was in fine operating condition. I replaced the battery due to it pushing 7 amps. They checked all they could and basically said they were out of issues. They told me there could be 2 things that could cause this. A short in the wiring or the PCM. So I am wondering what could be the most likely cause, being that the PCM is a little more than id like to spend. The car drives and runs fine once started. No other issues. Like I said ive checked all other possibilites. Thanks for the Help.
