Engine Performance problem
2003 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 144000 miles
My Mitsubishi Lancer Evo 7 (4g63t) gets really sluggish when the exhaust pipe gets hot after 3 minutes drive from a cold start (after warming up), and I noticed if the exhaust pipe (where the o2 sensors located) gets cold (from rain splash or driving during rain) the acceleration when back to normal, powerful and no more sluggish feel. I even tried some experiment by spraying some water on the exhaust pipe to make it cold and and the sluggish feel gone but it will come back once the pipe & sensor gets hot again after 5-6 minutes. I used to get an error code of "o2 sensor overheated" once back 5 months ago, but this problem just arose recently. Any help is highly appreciated. Thanks
