What is the actual problem? Not shifting into park or will not start in park and need to move it to neutral to start it? Do the reverse lights come on only in reverse?

There is no real adjustment to the NSS. You make sure the transmission is in park, install the new switch with it in the park position and your done. There is a small amount of motion in the bolts to allow for manufacturing tolerances but that is about it.
