Electrical problem
1994 Mazda Protege 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 101000 miles

Upon thorough examination of my rear lights I discovered that the back-up[reverse] lights were not coming on as desired. At other times it comes on, but it shows concrete evidence of a electrical short existing. My knowledge on wiring for vehicles is limited, but not my skills with tools, and I have a decent set of them to put to work on this problem.
Thanks very much for any help regarding this matter.

Hi there,

I would be checking the reverse light switch and the loom conection at the transmission first, start here.
