Engine Performance problem
1992 Mazda Navajo 6 cyl Four Wheel Drive Automatic 165000 miles
Took my car to be serviced and told them the pipe from the muffler to the resinator was broke and had to be welded. The resinator was in good condition
but the repair people thru it away and put a straight pipe instead. The car didn't run right took it back and they said the computer was needing replaced
put a another computer in and the car still did not
run smooth. Question is what purpose does the resonator serve and is there lack of back pressure
with its absence causing the engine to run rough?
Would like to know because the starter now has gone, did like the car but have to know if these repairs might be the answer or I may have to purchase another car in a bad economy.
