Where is the thermostat located? How hard or easy is it to replace?

Try checking below

near the alternator up front of the engine it really always help to look at the new part before you install helps to locate it.
From the driver's side at the bottom of the radiator the hose runs across to the passenger side of the car. It turns up into a housing with a secondary smaller hose coming out the side of the housing. If you remove the 2 bolts holding this housing together you will find the thermostat inside with an O ring seal that has to be replaced in the right position when you reinstall the new thermostat.
