I need a wiring diagrams for a 98 lincoln cotinetal. Diagrams of Fuel pump driver module, and wires going to fuel pump, and PCM.

The FPDM is behind the back seat, passenger side, accessed from the trunk.

You need a scan tool to prompt the FPDM to increase pressure so you can see if the pump FPDM and the pump responds. The code is for the fuel rail pressure sensor so that circuit would have to be troubleshooted. You would need the scan tool for that also.

No, you can test resistance. It is a 3 wire, 5v reference return sensor. You need to use a scan tool to see what the computer is seeing.

What type of scan tool? I have a obd2 reader, bought it a couple of years ago, it cost about 100 bucks. I have software and PC cable. Is a scanner and reader the same thing?

Ok, I tested resistance on FRP sensor. On sensor FRP to VRFE: 44.2k ohms, FRP to Sig Rtn: 44.2k ohms, and VREF to Sig Rtn: 1.4k ohms.

Also tested all 3 wires for opens between sensor and PCM and there was none.

Code p0190 is the only code that comes on, and wires going to FPRS are shared by lots of other sensors.

This could be bad PCM. I would find a used one and plug it in.

Being an old Ford guy, I'm sure theres a difference somewhere between the two. For the heck of it, I called a buddy of mine I used to work with at a dealership years ago and according to him, unless you had the tag off of the wiring harness, they wouldn't even order one. In other words, with all the different options and all available for these cars, even if it was the exact same year. The harness maybe different.

BTW, why are you wanting to replace the harness anyway?

Vechicle is a 4.6. Im looking for a wiring diagram for the fuel pump system. A test light on the pink/black wire to the pump flashes bright very quickly then gives a couple of dim flashes, not the on for 1.5 seconds like it should. It also does the same thing on the pink/black wire coming out of the FP driver module in the trunk. Thank you for any information

Hereis a diagram but check the fp module as i've seen some tipson capacitors going bad inside them and check to make sure inertia switch isnt' engaged.

Inertia switch is good. Is there a fuel pump relay in the sealed relay pack on top of the radiator? Or does the Module in the trunk run it all? Just wondered where the other 2 wires go. Im thinkink its the FP module. Thank you so much!
