Car electical lights turn on and car goes in to limp mode, I have had the catalytic converter changed and exhaust and all the wires checked. I was just wondering if no oil in the engine would do this to the car.

You have to be specific on which lights turn on. If there is no oil in the engine, besides causing really serious damage, there will not be any oil pressure and the red "Oil" warning light will turn on. If the engine stalls, the red "Battery" light will turn on because the generator has stopped recharging it. That is to be expected and is not part of the problem.
