2000 Other Lexus Models 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 46000 miles
I have recently bought a Lexus IS200 year 2000 & had a problem with the steering not centralising fully. I’ve had the tracking set & the steering rack overhauled but the problem is sill there. I’ve driven the car in a car park & if you don’t help the steering back, it just goes round in circles.
I’m told from the local dealer that it’s not that bad & it’s normal for this model to behave like that & it will feel different, as I was used to driving a front wheel drive Honda Accord.
Should the steering centralise fully or am I just being too fussy?
Do you know if this is a common fault or can you think of what might cause this? I do have warranty with the car but don’t know what to do when I can’t get anyone to recognise there’s a problem.
