Engine Cooling problem
2004 Lexus IS 300 6 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic
about to buy a Lexus IS 300 2004 year. Dealer selling in Buick GMC and is a large family owned dealer in business many years. Good better business bureau rating. Took car to Toyota dealership to do pre ownership inspection. They noted water pump issue. Had dealer service people call tToyota to clarify and was told there is a some crusting around the water pump. Dealer took car back and reinspected and did pressure check on water pump & said it was okay. What does this check tell as respects the real condition of the water pump. Is there a range that would indicate whether the pump is very strong or weak but just within acceptable range? Buyer sees dealer wanting to sell a car and the toyota dealer who supposedly did an independant inspection ( at buyers request-not dealer )wanting work. How can I approach the dealer and determine what the real condition of the water pump?
have the same problem?
