Electrical problem
1993 Range Rover V8 All Wheel Drive Automatic 130000 miles

just placed a new battery in my rover, and it sat for a couple of days. Went to start it the other day and the battery was dead, so I jumped it. It fired rigt up but as soon as I pulled the booster cables off the battery it imediatly died. I jumped it a few more times and it did the same thing, what going on?

Hi there,

If the battery is dead flat and the alternator is not charging the engine will not run as there is not enough power to keep the ignition system working, get the battery bench charged and load tested and have the alternator charge rate checked, you may have a faulty alternator.
