ON MULTIPLE OCCASIONS, MY LANDROVER DISCOVERY HAS LOST POWER AND DIED ON 3+ HOUR TRIPS. BEFORE DYING, THE ENGINE STARTED MAKING A LOUD CLUNKING NOISE AND THE OIL PRESSURE LIGHT CAME ON, FOLLOWED BY THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT. BOTH TIMES THE CAR DIED, IT WOULD NOT START AGAIN AND HAD TO BE TOWED. THE FOLLOWING DAY IT WOULD START AGAIN. MECHANICS HAVE CHECKED IT OUT, AND NO ONE HAS A GOOD IDEA OF WHAT IS WRONG. IT DRIVES FINE AROUND TOWN, BUT AS SOON AS IT STARTS WORKING HARD UP HILLS FOR LENGTHY AMOUNTS OF TIME OR LONG TRIPS, IT STARTS CLUNKING AND WILL EVENTUALLY DIE.
