Yesterday the car died while pulling up to a stop sign. Will not crank. No spark. From what I have found it might be the crank sensor. Please advise

First, go with basics before throwing parts at it.

Look at compression, fuel pressure and spark.

With no spark, first thing I would check is the timing belt. See if it turns and is not broken

The car sounds like the battery is low on charge when I turn it over. Had the battery checked and it is good. The guy at the parts store said it was probably the crank sensor. I don't know if it is the crank sensor or the coil or maybe another sensor. Is there a way for me to check them with a voltage or ohm meter? I have very limited funds to throw at this problem and need to get it right the first time if at all possible

Parts people are just that, salesman. They are not techs and they guess and that is expensive and mostly wrong.

Was the check engine light on?

The crank sensor is checked with a scan tool to see if it reading rpm and toggling the injectors.

Will not crank? Does this means it will not even turn over as in cranking like a bad starter motor?

Timing belt is not broken. The car won't start. When I turn it over it sounds like the battery is low. Barley turning over. I put a screw driver in the end of the plug wire to check for spark. Had none

Ok. I have spark. Got the timing belt cover off and the belt doesn't spin when I turn the key over. The other pulleys spin but the timing belt doesn't. Something locked up or the teeth just gone on the belt?
