Did you put engine no.1 piston on its compression stroke/TDC before you align the cam and crank correctly and timings marks at vibration damper to 0/TDC and distributor rotor pointing to no.1 cap tower. If not the valve timing is off and this will also throw off the ignition timing.
If you have done the above correctly to the T-check for fuel and spark and get back with some results
