Engine Performance problem
2008 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 20000 miles

A few months ago I purchased a used 2008 Grand Cherokee and have always noticed that the engine idles at 1500 RPM when cold, even though the temperature outside is 90 degrees. Most of the time, the radiator cooling fan is roaring as well. This idle speed seems excessive.

Is there something I should check and is there a way to slow this down?
