Engine Performance problem
2000 Jeep Grand Cherokee V8 Four Wheel Drive Automatic 98,000 miles

open or shorted fuel injectors
open or short in electrical circuit
high fuel pressure regulator
defective fuel return line blocked
tps and circuit for failure
I took my car to auto zone because engine light comes on. What comes to my mind is a sensor of some sort.
Car feels like it is not getting enough fuel sometimes. If you have you foot in it and you are driving normal, or take your foot off the accellerator it is fine. If you are going down hill or not really accellerating just hanging there it will sputter, choke out, jerk. I does not do this all the time, some days are worse than others - some days she drives fine.
what do you suggest I replace first? Is it something a back yard mechanic could do with little stress?
I thought maybe it would be a fuel filter clogged - is that worth changing first - where would that be?≫
thank you
