Heater problem
1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Four Wheel Drive Automatic 169864 miles

I have a H02S code error on my Jeep. Where is this sensor located, how do I fix it, and how much is it to replace it?

UPSTREAM OXYGEN SENSOR
NOTE: Upstream Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) may also be referred to as 1/1 HO2S.

Removal
1/1 HO2S is mounted on exhaust pipe, in front of catalytic converter. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect electrical connector from 1/1 HO2S. Using Socket (YA8875), remove 1/1 HO2S from exhaust pipe.
Installation
If installing original or used 1/1 HO2S, apply anti-seize compound on threads of 1/1 HO2S. A NEW 1/1 HO2S should already be coated with anti-seize compound. Install and tighten 1/1 HO2S to specification

DOWNSTREAM HEATED OXYGEN SENSOR
NOTE: Downstream heated oxygen sensor may also be referred to as 1/2 HO2S.

Removal
1/2 HO2S is mounted on exhaust pipe, behind catalytic converter. Raise and support vehicle. Disconnect electrical connector from 1/2 HO2S. Using Socket (YA8875), remove 1/2 HO2S from exhaust pipe.
Installation
If installing original or used 1/2 HO2S, apply anti-seize compound on threads of sensor. A NEW 1/2 HO2S should already be coated with anti-seize compound.
To complete installation, reverse removal procedure. Tighten 1/2 HO2S to specification.
