Cruise Control Won't engage

I own a 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee Larado 4x4 with 52000 miles. I recently had the car inspected and ever since the cruise control won't engage. The dash light will come on saying that cruise is on but the car will not maintain speed or accelerate or act like it is in cruise in general.

Try calling Jeep to see if there are any TSB's on this one! If not you could try disconnecting the neg battery cable for about a half hour and recnnecting.
