2005 Jaguar XK8 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 35000 miles
I'm having a very difficult time finding any information on the problem I have and just want to thank you in advance for whatever help you can provide.
The hydraulic hose powering my convertible top has sprung a nasty leak and yesterday all the fluid came spewing out from the roof as I was putting the top down. The dealer has told me the hose runs all the way back to the trunk, which understandably will require some labor, but they want $1400 to fix it.
I'd really like to purchase this part online and either fix it myself if possible or take the car to my local mechanic. Is there any help you have for locating a part number as well as the bigger question; is this a job only a dealer can do or will my local mechanic be able to replace the hose if I can't?
Again, thank you very much for your expertise!
have the same problem?
