Anti theft reset

Unfortunately, these systems are designed purposefully to avoid being bypassed so that the car cannot be stolen.

I attached a copy of how it works and as you can see, your key needs to send a coded message to the ICU which sends it to the ECM and they all agree that the key is a good key. Once this happens, the ECM sends all the needed messages to start the vehicle. Without this coded message, there is not way to bypass it.

Sorry. Let me know if you have further questions or if I can help figure out what the issue is. If you want me to, then we need to retrieve the codes in the system. That will tell us if there is an issue with the key or one of the modules.

Try a security system reset see pic and link one should get it going if not that then scan for codes . if battery was dirty/replaced sets the security off.

This will work with most cars, Remove the negative battery cable from the battery. Then hold it to the positive battery terminal for 1 minute this will discharge the capacitors rebooting the system. This guide can help as well.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
The circuit consists of the starter switch, anti-theft & keyless entry controller, antitheft horn, front door and tailgate key switch (detect and tamper) switch, door lock actuator for each door, engine hood switch, clutch start switch (M/T), ANTI-THEFT indicator light and mode switch (A/T).

The system operates as follows: After locking the starter switch and removing the starter key (this sets the alarm), if the door is unlocked in any way other than with the proper key, the headlights start flashing, the horn sounds, and the starter circuit is disabled. (However, the engine hood and all the doors must be locked and closed.)

Once the system has been placed in the warning or alarm condition, it can be released only when the starter switch is shifted from "OFF" to "ACC" by the starter key, or when the lock of the front door or the tailgate is released (to activate the detect switch) by the starter key.

CIRCUIT OPERATION

Anti-theft operation
The keyless entry and anti-theft control unit receives various input from switches in the four doors on the Rodeo, two doors on the Amigo, and tailgate to monitor any unauthorized entry. If notified of such case, the control unit will flash the headlights, the parking lights and interior lights, sound the anti-theft horn, and disable the starter.

I can only finid the procedures for turning the horn off and hope it helps.

I could not find any data on the method to disable the alarm except to disconnect the control unit and this might affect other functions such as the security system.

Try this re set,let know if it works.

Sounds like it may be an issue with the key tumbler/ignition switch if it acts like the key is still in after removed. You may want to start there

Hi there,

It appears that an initial post I made did not go through, I indicated that there is no way to just disarm the system with removing a fuse or cutting a wire, there are to may lock down systems, that is if the system is tampered with the immobiliser will not allow the engine to start, this is done internally with the ECU, so I do feel that, that is not a real option unless you have an auto electrician to do the by passing, as there is no information on line to do this, it will have to be done hands on, or do the diagnostic I sent.
