I have a 2002 Isuzu Trooper. 103,000 miles, 6 cylinder with DOHC, 4wd.
Ever since I have had it it always would rattle, like it didn't have enough oil, yet it did. I have always noticed, though I have no oil leaks, it uses alot of oil.
Well, yesterday, it started knocking. I have not lost any power or compression. It will knock viciously. Sometimes on heavy acceleration other times, at low speeds. I had a fellow at the auto parts store tell me he thought it was rod bearings. Could this be true already? I can't locate a part. Can this be solved through the oil pan or can does it have to be torn down. Any further suggestions would be helpful.
have the same problem?
