Car stopped, and will not start. Engine turns over, but does not start. How do we know if it is a timing belt? Have replaced plugs and fuel filter. Gas is going through to the filter. How can we diagnoise if it is a timing belt? Or something else.

Take off the distributor cap and crank the motor to see if the rotor turns.

Do a compression test as well.

Check for spark and fuel pressure as well.
