2003 Infiniti M45 V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 66000 miles
I bought and picked this car up on Saturday, within one hour and after hitting the horn the car died immediately. I thought nothing of it. Ten minutes later I accidentally hit the flashers and the car died again. Both time I had to wait about two minutes before the car would start again. So I decided to bring it back to the dealer to get looked at. On the way there, the car would die about every two minutes consistently. It was an hour+ drive, normally about fifteen minutes. When at the dealership, they pulled the code P0340, which is a cam-shaft position sensor code. They also mentioned they just replaced the fuel pump because it ran rough. I was able to find more information on the code, and it looks as though it could be many things. From the PCM, wiring harness, a grounded wire, camshaft and crankshaft position sensor. I can't think of anything that would cause the car to die consistently every two minutes, and then start right back up again two minutes later. The dealership hasn't provided much detail yet, and I'm out my new car still. It does have a 30 day/1200 mile warranty, and I would assume a repair would be covered considering I had problems only an hour after assuming ownership. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
