1996 Infiniti I30 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic
Hi, When it's cold in the morning, or when the car has been sitting for a few hours in the cold, I have to press on the gas when I start the car in order to get the engine going, and when it's very cold I have to gas for about up to a minute, otherwise the car will shut off. After the car warms up, or on warm days, it strarts fine without me havin to press on the gas. ( I have a remote starter, and on cold temperatures, when I try to start it with the remote starter, it just cranks once but doesn't start. I have to use my key, and press the gas pedal), WHat could be the problem here?. Another thing is, on the rpm meter, the needle only goes up slowly when I drive. The longer I drive, the further it goes up.(If I drive for a long distance, it goes up slowly until it can't move any farther, past the 8rpm mark, and it stays there even when I shut the car off. It goes back down the next day or so, randomly when i'm driving and repeats the same process of going up slowly). The car drives n shift fine, and when it shifts gears for instance from 1st to 2nd, the needle won't go up n come down; only goes up slowly from 1 to 1 /4, 1 1/2 til the maximum if I go far. Basically it works like the minute or hour needle on a clock. What could be causing this. Thank you.
