Taking engine head off

I'm trying to take the head off of the car listed above. I took the main head bolts off and the head is not coming off. But there are two hex bolts in the middle of the heads they don't even budge, I'm not sure if I need to take these off or even how to take them off because they are so tight on there. Should I go buy an electric torque gun and do that? I'm not sure what I should do. Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

Hello,

In the diagrams down below I have included a cylinder head bolt tighten order and torque values for your vehicle. You can use this as a reference to match up to your vehicle's cylinder head bolts to see if the two bolts in question are cylinder head bolts, which I am 99% sure, they are. To remove a torqued down bolt like this, leverage is king. You can get a 1/2" breaker bar and then get a piece of pipe that will fit over the breaker bar handle. The breaker bar will have to be elevated enough to allow sideways movement to loosen the bolts, so you might have to use a small extension. Place the cheater bar over the breaker bar handle and loosen. The longer the cheater bar the more leverage. Please get back to us with what happens.

After removing the cylinder head I notice that the pistons top is scared by the valves and I would like to know should the pistons be changed or will I be taking a big risk?

Its a roll of the dice, depending on how hard the valves hit and where they hit. If they hit towards the center of the piston the pistons may not be hurt, but if they hit towards the edges, the ring landings could be damaged which will cause them to stick in the pistons and not seal properly in the cylinder.

My engine needs a cylinder head. We took the oid one off and notice that the valves on oneside of the heads has indented the top of the Piston and left a mark, the mark do not appear tobe all the way through. How serious is this?

Take the head to a reputable machine shop and have it checked out. It may be less expensive to repair yours than to buy a new one.
