We are into our 30th drive after repairing the EGR. As shown in the photo, drill carefully (turn the drill bit by hand!) into the top of the valve, using the mold marks to center the drill. Once you have opened up a hole, spray in some contact cleaner. Activate the valve several times (apply 12 volts, + to pin 4/bottom left; - to pin 6/bottom right) and the resistance element contact will get cleaned. Check the resistance measurements- should be about 1500 ohms deactivated and about 4000 ohms activated (measure from pin 2/top middle to pin 1/top right). Can be done with the valve remaining on the engine. I emphasize that this is only a temporary repair...
