2004 honda element, 68k miles, FWD, manual stick, 2.4 Vtech.

When accelerating hard, a knocking/bumping noise can be heard coming from front of car.

It goes away when coasting.

Can't feel or hear it when turning left or right.

Honda just diagnosed it as bad control arm bushings but said something else could also be bad. Thats a scam if I've ever heard one.

Mr Tire then said it definitely is a bad CV joint, but that I should go to Honda and get them to tell me which one.

So far, I don't think anybody really knows for sure. But I ain't going on a wild goose chase with my credit card.

Got an appointment with third mechanic Friday morning. We'll see. Said the blind man to the deaf son.

Any Ideas?
