Blower motor not working

My 2002 Honda CRV is the best, but I cant find out whats wrong with the ac/heater, 1 day it was blowing and working but the next it wasn't, so I have done a lot of elimination like its not a fuse, or relay. When you turn on the car and then the ac knob on the fan kicks on but then right off, could that be the problem. I also know the fan works because my dad hooked up a battery to it and it works just fine. My dad thinks its the knobs that are in the car that are broken. I have tried the knobs and it don't matter what speed I put it on it does not work. But when im going fast air comes out of the vents not a lot but still, if I turn it to hot it gets hot if I turn it to cold its not cold but cool. I have look bin looking different things on the net and haven't seen anything that it could be.

The fan blower motor is not working and you need to find out why.

See if the following is of any help.

A Problem in the Blower Motor Circuit

1 . Check the No. 12 (40A) fuse in the under-hood fuse/relay box, and the No. 14 (10A) fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box.
Are the fuses OK ?
YES - Go to step 2.
NO - Replace the fuse(s), and recheck.

2 . Connect the No. 2 terminal of the blower motor 2P connector to body ground with a jumper wire.

3 . Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Does the blower motor run?
YES - Go to step 4.
NO - Go to step 17 .

4 . Turn the ignition switch OFF.
5 . Disconnect the jumper wire.
6 . Disconnect the power transistor 4P connector.
7 . Check for continuity between the No. 2 terminal of the power transistor 4P connector and body ground.

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 8.
NO - Check for an open in the wire between the power transistor and body ground.

8 . If the wire is OK, check for poor ground at G501. Connect the No. 2 and No. 4 terminals of the power transistor 4P connector with a jumper wire.

9 . Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
Does the blower motor run at high speed?
YES - Go to step 10.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the power transistor and the blower motor.

10 . Turn the ignition switch OFF.
11 . Disconnect the jumper wire.
12 . Disconnect the heater control panel 30P connector.
13 . Check for continuity between the No. 16 and No. 17 terminals of the heater control panel 30P connector and body ground individually.

Is there continuity?
YES - Repair any short to body ground in the wire(s) between the heater control panel and the power transistor.
NO - Go to step 14.

14 . Check the continuity between the following terminals of the heater control panel 30P connector and the power transistor 4P connector.

Is there continuity?
YES - Go to step 15.
NO - Repair any open in the wire(s) between the heater control panel and the power transistor.

15 . Reconnect the heater control panel 30P connector.
16. Test the power transistor (see Power Transistor Test ).
Is the power transistor OK ?
YES - Check for loose wires or poor connections at the heater control panel 30P connector and at the power transistor 4P connector. If the connections are good, substitute a known-good heater control panel, and recheck. If the symptom/indication goes away, replace the original heater control panel.
NO - Replace the power transistor.

17 . Disconnect the jumper wire.
18 . Disconnect the blower motor 2P connector.
19 . Measure the voltage between the No. 1 terminal of the blower motor 2P connector and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Replace the blower motor.
NO - Go to step

20. Turn the ignition switch OFF.
21. Remove the blower motor relay from the under-hood fuse/relay box, and test it.
Is the relay OK?
YES - Go to step 22.
NO - Replace the blower motor relay.

22 . Measure the voltage between the No. 3 terminal of the blower motor relay 4P socket and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 23.
NO - Replace the under-hood fuse/relay box.

23 . Turn the ignition switch ON (II).
24. Measure the voltage between the No. 2 terminal of the blower motor relay 4P socket and body ground.

Is there battery voltage?
YES - Go to step 25.
NO - Repair open in the wire between the No. 14 fuse in the under-dash fuse/relay box and the blower motor relay.

25 . Turn the ignition switch OFF.
26 . Check for continuity between the No. 1 terminal of the blower motor relay 4P socket and body ground.

Is there continuity?
YES - Repair open in the BLU/WHT wire between the blower motor relay and the blower motor.
NO - Check for an open in the wire between the blower motor relay and body ground. If the wire is OK, check for poor ground at G301.

Air Conditioning problem
2002 Honda CRV 4 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 86000 miles

The Fan does not work either on the AC or the heater. I check the fuses both under the hood (left side engine area) and under the dash (right side steering column. All fuses were good. I was told to rap on the blower motor to see if it would start.
Where is the Blower Motor located? Do you have any other T/S recommendations?

The blower motor is below the right side of dash on AC blower unit. Check the blower motor relay too.

Fan won't come on or AC light not on neither!
When you turn on air control knob nothing happens like the light for AC won't come on or fan not coming on. No clicking noise or nothinh on sound or nothing!

Check the blower motor and power supply to it.
Turn blower speed mode to maximum to see if it works.

Ac was working great, all of a sudden I went to turn it on, and nothing. No fan, no ac, no heat. No noise of any kind. Checked all the fuses and all are fine. Going crazy, I'm in Florida, we need ac. If I take it to shop it will cost me an arm and leg. Please help, wanted to check the control panel but don't know how to remove it. Nothing turns on, no sound, nothing, only the lights work, I have switched it to ac/max, front, front/floor, I mean nothing. That's why I thought it could be the knob it self, maybe a plug came loose, but I don't know how to take the panel out to check.

I know you said you checked fuses but did you check the number 12 fuse in the fuse box located under the hood on the driver side it is a "40" amp fuse most likely green in color. If yes then check the blower motor relay locate in the same location as stated above. One way to check this blower motor relay is to swap it with another relay in the fuse box. This will rule out if the relay is defective. If this does not make the blower motor operate then try this. On the passenger side dash board on the very bottom side is the blower motor. Turn the ignition key on (engine off) then turn on the fan speed on high and hit the blower motor with a rubber mallet or something non-damaging to see if blower motor starts to operate. If it does then you probably have a bad blower motor if no change happens then further diagnostics is required (meaning electrical).

Thank you for all the info. We did everything you said, but nothing worked. My brother came by and helped, he removed the Blower Resister, taking a chance we went and bought a new one, replaced it and thank the Lord that was the problem. It looked fine, but when he installed the new one it was like magic, turned it on and problem solved, ice cold ac again. Thank you again for all you suggestions.

Absolutely! Good to hear it is fixed. The blower motor resistor is a common failure on a lot of vehicles I've worked on but it can only by tested the electrical tools (ie power probe or volt meter)

The interior fan simply stopped working while I was driving yesterday. AC still works, but nothing to blow it into the car. Cannot find the fuse specific to it, but the ones that seemed to fall into the category were fine. What do I look for next, how do I test it?

Locate the blower motor wire harness. There should be two wires. One is power, one is ground. With the blower fan speed turned on, check for power and ground. If you have both, replace the blower motor.

My blower motor quit on me. Won't work on any fan position. I tested for power at the fan plug with a test light and it lit up so I took the fan out and hooked it up to 12v. It spins just fine. Guess I'm a a little confused. If a fuse or relay was bad would I get power at the plug? If it's a resistor, would it still work on high speed? Any ideas would be appreciated! Thanks,

There is a short between the plug and the fan motor. Check connection for corrosion.

You need to test the ground circuit as well. Ensure the blower is getting a ground. If it's getting power and ground and still isn't operating, check exactly how much voltage is reaching the motor, it may be low.

The blower fan on my daughter's 2000 Honda CRV suddenly came on by itself and cannot be turned off.
(1) Any ideas what would cause this?
(2) Do you know which fuse controls the blower so it can be temporarily disabled.
