Good Afternoon,
I have a 2007 Honda Civic EX sedan that I am having trouble with for the past few days. The factory installed alarm seems to be going off without anything prompting it to go off. I have not installed anything new on the car and have checked to see if all of the doors, etc. Are locked and secure but the alarm seems to be going off all by itself. Have you seen this problem and if so what can I do to remedy this? Thanks for your time.

Sincerely,

Jerry Mangone

Hi Jerry Mangone,

The most common cause for alarm intermittently going of is an out of adjustment door or hood switch.

If the door ajar indicator tends to flicker or shows while driving, that would indicate a door is out of adjustment. When this occurs, the door switch is closed but any vibrations from the surrounding can cause the switch to be activated triggering the alarm.
