Engine Cooling problem
1998 Honda Civic 4 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

my civic has been leaking coolant from the overflow resovoir. The coolant is bubbling hot in the resovoir. I have replaced the radiator cap and the thermostat so far with no change yet. Any thoughts on my problem?

Hi postal1120,

Overfilling of the reserve tank would cause overflowing. Is the cap replaced of the correct specs?

If the coolant level in the radiator is low, it would happen. After replacement of thermostat, was the system bled properly? Is the reservoir hose inside the tank properly attached to the cap joint?

The worst case scenario is a blown head gasket.
