Engine Cooling problem
1998 Honda Civic 4 cyl Two Wheel Drive Automatic 173000 miles

I bought my car about a month ago and a week after I bought it It overheated, So I took it into a honda dealership who charged me 400$ to fix the fan switch and the thermostat. So a week ago It over heated again but this time it was really bad! And they said thats what caused the head gasket to blow. So how much would that cost to repair? Cuz there giving me an estimate of 1700 for the head gasket & 400 for a new radiator. Is that reasonable? Or too much?

Sounds like they may be replacing your vehicle's cylinder head as well as the head gasket. Otherwise, it should only cost around $900 total for these repairs. .
