I've been having trouble with my shift lock and having to manually overide it almost everyday. But now yesterday my battery is dead and my brake tail lights were clicking and flashing in almost a "strobe-like" fashion, and the car won't "jump" start.

wondering if I have a related issue?

Hi muddlepup,

Won't jump start = unable to crank?

Brake lights strobing with or without application of brake pedal?

The intermittent gear shift sticking should be related to the brake lights and it looks like a faulty brake switch. The battery runing flat could be due to faulty brake switch keeping the brake lights on. It could be a bad brake switch stopper rubber or pedal height adjustment.
