You don't have to remove the door panel to replace the master switch. Check out the instructions in the diagrams below.

I just installed a new driver's side window switch. The windows work perfectly again - thank goodness. But my problem is that my key fob lock/unlock and trunk opener doesn't work. Do I need to reset something in the car to get the window switch to recognize my key fob? Help please.

I have some experience with cars. But I will settle with Thank you for your advice. Unfortunately that is where I looked first and my "manual" does not give me advice on how to sync my key fob after installing a new switch. It only gives advice on how to reset the system after losing power (via a disconnected battery, etc.). So I am looking for some technical advice on how to sync the key fob with the car after installing a new main window switch. I am guessing that there is a special trick to reset the system that only a dealer would know. Anyone who has some sound advice on this - it would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Or try this.
Turn key on Hit lock button on fob
turn key off
turn key on hit lock button on fob
turn key off
turn key on hit lock button on fob
turn key off
turn key on hit lock button on fob
you should hear the door lock actuators work(you are in the programming mode)
hit lock buttons on both fobs you should hear the door actuators working with each button press.
Turn ign switch to off
Remove key and viola Whatever keyless remotes will work will work then.
You must do each step quickly for success. BTW most service advisors at dealerships will perform this operation free of charge. If you are not successful on the first attempt try again until it works.

Hi mlemise,

The switch is pluggged in and can be removed by carefully prying it out. Note the locking tabs position. Unplug the connectors ( A) after prying the switch out and it can be replaced.

Thanks for the info, but this diagram is for a 4-door. Mine is the 2-door coupe, and the set-up is completely different

Sorry for the error. Here are the 2-door procedures.

2-DOOR

Remove the power window switch panel (A).

à † -1 Insert a flat-tip screwdriver wrapped with protective tape through the hole under the armrest, and push up the bottom of the power window switch (B) to release the panel.

à † -2 Pull out along the edge of the panel to release the hook (C) and clips (D).

à † -3 Disconnect the power mirror switch connector (E) (driver's) and the power window switch connector (F).

Hi likan,

Just managed to get some info on programming the remote control, but these are for Taiwan models so don't know if it works.

You can only program a maximum of 3 control.

All steps must be done within the specified time.

Ensure all doors are closed.

Step 1. Turn ignition switch to 'ON'

Step 2. In between 1 to 4 seconds, Press remote in direction of door sensor.

Step 3. In between 1 to 4 seconds. Turn ignition switch to 'OFF'

Step 4. In between 1 to 4 seconds, turn ignition to 'ON'

Step 5. In between 1 to 4 seconds, Press remote in direction of door sensor.

Step 6. In between 1 to 4 seconds. Turn ignition switch to 'OFF'

Step 7. In between 1 to 4 seconds, turn ignition to 'ON'

Step 8. In between 1 to 4 seconds, Press remote in direction of door sensor.

Step 9. In between 1 to 4 seconds. Turn ignition switch to 'OFF'

Step 10. In between 1 to 4 seconds, turn ignition to 'ON'

Step 11. In between 1 to 4 seconds, Press remote in direction of door sensor.

Step 12. Confirm doors are locking or unlocking.

Step 13. For programming spare remote control units, within 10 seconds, press them in direction of door sensor. Confirm that the doors are locking or unlocking when remote are activated.

Step 14. Turn ignition "OFF"

Step 15. Test and confirm if all remotes are working.

Hope this works.

Hi hvle,

Seems the Multiplex System is causing the problem. You would need appropriate equipments to test/diagnose the problem.

The power switch is giving problems. It has problem with the two front doors. It can lower the window down but would not work upwards.
I replaced the power switch and the problem was solved for a few days and recurred again.
What could be the issue? Please advis. Thanks in advance.

Hi,

You have to check the electricals. Your new switches could also be the culprit. Check for current supply to the motors while operating the switches to determine if they are operating properly.
