Electrical problem
1996 Honda Accord 4 cyl Four Wheel Drive Manual 193000 miles

Primarily when I go uphills at times, my tacometer and speedometer will go back to 0 several times, the
clock goes off and it seems to loose power. When
this started it was low on fuel. Once I filled up,
there were no problems for about a week. Then
while going up a small hill, it lost power and the
tacometer and speedometer when up and down
several times as before. It ran rough for about
a 1/2 mile and then stopped. I left the car
for a few hours and when I came back, it started
immediately with no problems. Had the battery
checked and was told it was fine. Mechanic thought
possible valve gasket leak with oil on plugs. Valve
gasket was replaced 30000 miles ago? Is that normal
and any other suggestions would be greatly
appreciated ( fuel in still at about 3/4 of a tank)

Hi Tkay1202,

Symptom seems to indicate an electrical power supply fault.

I would suggest checking the ignition switch and PGM-FI main relay.
