Make sure air filter is dry, if not get the spark plugs out and crank the engine to see if it cranks. If water or a lot of vapour shoots out, you might have a problem with water entering the engnie and damaging the conrods.
Remove the distributor cap and dry it if there is any water. Put spark plugs and distributor cap back and see if the engine starts.
No abnormal running or noise from engine means it is ok to drive the car.
