When I stop, the temperature gauge rises above the normal level, but hot as high as the red level on the gauge. As soon as I go, the temp goes back to normal almost immediately. I can also bring the temp to normal by revving the engine a little while I am stopped. The cooling fans are working properly, and the radiator is only a few years old. Last time I checked, the coolant looked good, but I needed to add about a pint.
Could this be a sign that my water pump is going bad?
